From what it seems at the moment. The drones will respawn again, if the attacking units move out of the activation range, and re-deploy when a unit enters the activation range again.
Any units in the silo instant heal, as soon as they return to it, so you don't need to enter the silo and start repairs, or add more from your airfield.
