Events are limited time activities with a diverse range of mechanics and prizes.

Concept Art - All-out assault on True Believers

Overview

Events usually consist of (but not limited to) a series of offensive or defensive battles, featuring PvP or PvE opponents. In an offensive battle, the player is required to destroy the units and/or buildings in a base, while in defense, the objective is to fend off enemy units advancing on a base (which can be either the player's own base or a base on the world map). In PvP (Player vs Player) battles the player engages with other human players, while in PvE (Player vs Environment), the enemy is computer controlled.

Winning a battle may unlock more battles and reward the player with either an Arm's Cache Box or a currency of the event. Arm's Cache Boxes unlock random prizes while event currencies determine the player's position on the leaderboard and their access to prizes. Some events have a store, in which the currency can be spent to unlock items, while an event that doesn't have a store, awards the players based on their leaderboard positions, as it reaches its conclusion.

Special Events

Poster - Operation: Chaos Century, 100th featured Special Event

The major events of War commander which are referred to as Monthly events (or just events). These events have been held on a monthly basis since January of 2012.

Each event instance has a unique name, and is usually announced a week in advance with the event countdown banner and teasers. It has a story that involves one (or more) rogue faction antagonist(s) and is mostly laid out as a sequence of dialogues between the characters.

In order to follow the story and win the prizes, the player has to play through the tracks, each being a sequence of missions. Finishing each mission rewards a random prize from an Arm's Cache Box and a specific amount of XP, which can be used to purchase items from the event store. Most of the missions are of the PvE offence type, while some events occasionally include PvP and defensive PvE missions as well.

Each event lasts 6 days and upon its conclusion, the Use or Lose Period starts. During the Use or Lose, players can spend their remaining XP to buy items from the store, but the event can't be played anymore.

Holdout

Holdout is a defensive PvE event, in which the player has to defend against 3 waves of attacking enemies with their platoons. Beating each wave rewards with XP, which can be used to purchase items in the Holdout Store.

Invasion

Invasion is a defensive PvE event, in which enemy units mount attacks on the player's base. To beat each wave, the player has to destroy all of the enemy units and at the same time protect their Command Center from falling.

Each player's position on the leaderboard is determined based on the aggregate time it takes them to beat all of the waves. While completing each wave rewards with prizes (usually recourses), the final prizes are rewarded at the conclusion of the event to the players that have completed at least one playthrough, based on their leaderboard positions.

Showdown: Heroes Assemble

Showdown is a PvE event. The battles can be won by either beating the waves of enemy units or by destroying the target base.

In Showdown only Heroes can be used in the battles. The player is awarded XP upon winning each battle, which can be used in the Showdown Store, to unlock heroes, their techs and training tokens.

Infamy

Infamy (aka PvP Season) is a PvP event, during which Infamy can be earned from player base engagements.

The amount of Infamy earned from each battle depends on how successful the attack has been and also on the infamy of the involved players at the start of the battle. The total Infamy of each player determines their leaderboard position as well as their weekly and end of season prizes.

Other than the prizes awarded to individual players, players that are members of Alliances win extra prizes if their alliance is among the top 3 of their class. The position of each alliance on the leaderboard is determined based on the total infamy of their members.

Warpath

Warpath is a PvP event, similar to Infamy, during which Honor can be earned from player base engagements.

The amount of Honor earned by the attacker from each battle depends on how successful the attack has been and also on the opponent's level and honor. The total Honor of each player determines their leaderboard position.

Players are awarded prizes during Warpath for completing tiers of the Bonus Track and at the conclusion of the event based on their leaderboard position.

Shadow Ops

Shadow Ops is an offensive PvE Event. Each Shadow Ops Campaign consists of 9 phases and each phase lasts for one week. During any phase, the players can attack Shadow Ops bases to earn points toward completing playthroughs.

Players win prizes from Arm's Cache Boxes while making progress toward (and after) completing a playthrough. The prizes usually include parts of a new unique unit, customization techs, resources and a damage boost for the upcoming Monthly Event.

Onslaught

Onslaught is a defensive PvE event that takes place in the player's base and consists of a number of defense waves. Killing all of the enemy units is required to beat each wave and failing to protect the Command Center will result in failure.

Distributed among the waves at certain distances, are the checkpoint waves, which award prizes upon completion.

Annual Events

Annual events normally occur every year to celebrate holidays or other occasions and lasts 1 day.

April Fool's Day

Usually a number of bases are spawned on the World Map, which may involve prizes as well as surprises.

Challenge Showdown

A PvE defensive mission with the objective of fending off waves of Highway Zealots forces in a limited amount of time. The prize consists of medals, the amount of which depends on the number of killed enemy units.

Challenge Showdown has been held during the following periods:

• June 22 - 23, 2019
• August 02 - 04, 2019

Infamy Strike

A PvP event similar to Infamy. Its objective was to gain infamy by attacking other player's bases and the rewards were distributed based on the player's final leaderboard positions.

• April 11 - 13, 2016.

Weekend Special

During Weekend events drop rate of prizes from certain bases increases.
