Kixeye finally gave War Commander a base planner/editor. Check out this update:

This could have been useful in 2012 when base defense was a priority in some events (e.g., Rogue Assault and Undead Harvest). I am happy to see the base editor, but Kixeye kept me waiting for too long, and I lost hope. I don't know if I should come back to this game because there were so many things I hated about it.

Well, to be fair, here is the plan. I am going to once again play the game at their official website, but I WILL NOT save the game. I will be using only a temporary account. That is what made Command & Conquer so much fun to me. I could quickly build up a base every time I started a new game (provided I had enough money to spend) and get my army ready in minutes. I wish War Commander were exactly like C&C. I am still hoping for a single player version that I can play offline at any time. I would settle for a demo at the Steam website and then buy the full game later if I like it.

I tested the base planner and it's okay. I wish it would let players save their base designs. Backyard Monsters and Battle Pirates let me save many sets of bases and quickly switch between them. I hope Kixeye does that in an update.
