Here is more information about my War Commander themed Generals mod project. I haven't started yet, but I hope to do it soon. It won't be perfect but it will still be fun.

Because I hate what War Commander became, I have decided to plan a modification for Generals Zero Hour that will be based on it. I am calling the project War Commander: Evolved. I think the word "evolved" is appropriate because this mod will be a better version of the original game. WC:E is what War Commander could have been and should have been.

Project WC:E will mimic War Commander using Generals coding. This is a personal project that I will not upload anywhere. I am doing this because I have many good ideas about War Commander that Kixeye should have added to the game, but they refused to do so. I don't hate the company; some of their decisions just annoy me.

I will be banning the following from the mod project:

- thorium: There is no way I can ever get that rare third resource coded into the game properly, so I am going to omit it. I felt it wasn't necessary anyway.

- zombies: why include zombies in an RTS game, Kixeye? They seem out of place in a game about realistic warfare (which is supposed to mimic real life wars). Let's keep them in only fantasies and science fiction, okay?

- overpowered "unique" units: This is one class of units that breaks the game and ruins the fun, in my opinion. I know Project-X2 includes OP'd uniques, but every side can build one so it is not unfair (and also no one faction will be able to dominate the others). However, they are expensive and require special tech buildings.

- special events: Special events seemed like a good idea at first, but sadly, they are not ideal the way Kixeye did them in War Commander. More new features only meant more problems, in my opinion. Instead, make the new units and buildings require special missions so players can do them at their leisure. Think of the newcomers who never had a chance to earn them (like me).
